Q: How can I find a copy of a book or a Bible that is no longer in print?
A: Check one of the following online resources to begin your search:
1. Amazon.com partners with many used and independent bookstores, who often have stock of out of print books and Bibles. Thomas Nelson, Inc. carries no stock of discontinued product. Searching at Amazon or another online source is the most reliable way of locating a specific book you are seeking. The best way to search on the internet is by using the International Standard Book Number, or ISBN, which is always a 10-digit number, may be printed somewhere on your book or Bible, and is unique to that product. A search using only title, author, or description may yield more search results than can reasonably be narrowed down to find the product you seek. Q: How do I submit my manuscript?
A: There are two paths for publishing your manuscript: traditional and self-publishing.
The traditional path is to select a reputable literary agent who can then submit your proposal to publishing houses such as Thomas Nelson. Below are the links to two blog posts from Thomas Nelson’s CEO, Michael Hyatt, that will guide you in your pursuit for the perfect literary agent for you:
Advice to First-Time Authors
Guide to Writing a Winning Book Proposal
If you are interested in pursuing a traditional publishing relationship, you may also want to consider submission of your manuscript proposal to ChristianManuscriptSubmissions.com where royalty publishers will have the opportunity to review your work.
The second option is to self-publish. Thomas Nelson’s publishing services division, WestBow Press, helps authors self-publish all genres of books while specializing in books with Christian morals, inspirational themes, and family values. Whether you have goals of commercial success or simply desire to create a book for friends and family, WestBow Press can help you create your book in your vision. We understand that your dreams are unique. Even if your ultimate goal is to publish traditionally, WestBow Press can be your foot in the door. As a division of Thomas Nelson, the titles published by WestBow Press are actively monitored to identify those books that show promise and strength in the marketplace. In every author's success story, there is a history and a beginning. With WestBow Press, you now have the opportunity to begin or advance your career as an author, share your story, and start shaping your future. Visit WestBow Press to get started today!
